Misguided Separation

By ego’s siren song ensnared,
Truth’s eternal light forsaken.
Deceived by illusions, dark and long,
This wanderer, in self-made plight.

From pillar to post, stumbling, bruised,
Burned by fires of mad desire.
Ashes scattered, soul confused,
None to console, none to inquire.

Forgotten like a dream at dawn,
Cast off when waking life reclaims.
To whom could anguish then be borne?
Prideful error’s bitter claims.

Humbled, forgiveness now is craved,
To reunite with Thee, the plea,
Before Thy radiant love to bow,
And let Thy grace encompass me.
