Longing

O Hidden One, concealed behind this veil so fine,
Each breath I take, each thought I make, is wholly Thine.
Yet lost am I in shadows cast by worldly sight,
Still yearning, still aching, for Your guiding light.

The pain You placed within my heart shall last for all eternity,
I still ache, yearning for but a glimpse of Your Majesty.
The purpose of my gaze is to behold Your radiant light,
You have adorned Yourself in beauty for the seekers’ sight.

Not eyes alone, but soul itself, now longs to see,
For in Your love, both loss and self dissolve in Thee.
The fleeting world but whispers of what lies beyond,
A home long lost, where hearts and souls belong.

O Beloved, take this longing, shape it into flight,
Let it soar beyond the stars into endless night.
Until the veil is lifted, and all is set free,
And nothing remains—only You, only Thee.
